Festive Fundraising Success

Barton Grange is delighted to announce its Christmas fundraising initiatives have raised a total of £14,000 for local charities.
Managing director Guy Topping presented cheques to representatives from each of the chosen charities at a special ceremony in the garden centre on Thursday 16th January.
Thanks to the success of the Christmas charity bells and carol concert, eight local charities including St Catherine’s Hospice, Heartbeat NW and Baby Beat received donations.
Guy says: “We are proud to contribute to the vital work of charities close to our centre, which make such a meaningful difference to people’s lives. I’d also like to send a message of thanks to our wonderful customers who have been so generous. It’s due to their ongoing support that our Christmas fundraising events are such an incredible success year after year.”
Christmas Charity Bell decorations were available to buy in the centre throughout the festive season. Each decoration was tagged with the name of a different charity so shoppers could choose the cause closest to their heart.
This resulted in £3,000 being raised for Guide Dogs, £2,500 for St Catherine’s Hospice, £2,000 for Heartbeat NW, £1,500 for Parkinson’s UK and £500 for Let’s Grow Preston.
Barton Grange’s annual Christmas Carols Concert with the Fellside Team of Churches and Preston Salvation Army was also a huge hit. The charitable donations from ticket and raffle sales were rounded up to £1500 for each of three chosen charities Baby Beat, Cancer Help and The Salvation Army.
