Cheerio Christmas, Hello Housplants

Fill the festive void with fresh foliage!
When the Christmas tree has been taken down and the decorations packed away, January can start to feel a little bleak. Where everywhere was full of fragrant evergreens and sparkling baubles, your home now looks cold and bare. But you don’t need to wait until next Christmas to bring the joy back. Now is the perfect time to fill those empty spaces with a vibrant fern or a striking yucca. Houseplants are such a quick and easy way to inject some fresh life and colour into your home.
With their health and wellbeing properties, they can also help to avert those dreaded January blues.
Houseplants will brighten up your home all year round. Many plants don’t require any expertise to grow and
will thrive with just a little care and attention.
Here are some of our favourite tall plants to replace your Christmas tree to make January blooming lovely!

Yucca elephantipes

Renowned for its architectural form and tropical appearance, the yucca makes quite a statement in any room. Its long, sword-shaped leaves radiate from a central stem.

Monstera deliciosa

The Swiss Cheese Plant is a very easy plant to grow. It loves to climb and will bring an instant touch of the tropics to your home.

Areca Palm

The elegant Areca palm fits well in any interior. Even if you have no experience with houseplants, it’s easy to keep this low-maintenance palm in good health.

Ficus benjamina

Known as the Weeping Fig, this stylish indoor plant has beautiful glossy green foliage. This large foliage houseplant is also fantastic at cleaning the air – so is great for a healthy home!

Sansevieria

Robust and undemanding, Snake Plants are among the easiest yet most dramatic houseplants. With so many species and varieties, you’re sure to find one you like.

And don’t forget to recycle your Christmas tree.
Barton Grange is offering customers the chance to recycle their Christmas trees. The trees will be given to the Fylde Sand Dunes project to help provide an improved flood defence on the Lancashire coast.
